Sudbury House Car Park Staircase
A dungeon like staircase serving the car park adjacent to the recently re-clad Sudbury House has been transformed as part of the larger scope of works. The once dark, dank stairwell enclosed at the top with a windowless concrete box has been given a full face lift with new clear glazed windows, paintwork to walls and soffits and a coating to the stairs and landings and new enhanced lighting. To cap it all and provide light and air to the previously uninviting and gloomy stairwell a steel framed glass box structure has been provided at the carpark level. This has been protected from vehicle damage with bollards and overall the works have improved what was there immeasurably for those that use it day to day.
